Message from Ms. Burt, Assistant Principal Greetings Nightingale Family, My name is Cheena Burt and I am delighted to announce that I am the new Assistant Principal at Nightingale School! I have received a very warm welcome from staff, students and families at Nightingale. If I have not had the opportunity to meet you please feel free to stop by my office so that I can introduce myself. A little bit about myself, my background is in Early Childhood, Special Education and Administration. I have had the pleasure of working in CPS for my entire professional career in education in teaching and leadership roles. Being a part of Nightingale is special to me as I started my first year teaching not too far from here, at Brighton Park Elementary School. I am looking forward to an exciting year of building partnerships, providing support, sharing new experiences and learning from you all! ATTENDANCE: Attendance matters! Being at School on time, every day makes a difference. As partners in education, we need your support to ensure students arrive to school on time EVERYDAY so they can have full access to instruction. Students who have strong attendance have (CCSR, 2013):
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS: The YMCA After School Program is in full effect. Nightingale will be adding after- school programs starting this month. Please be on the look-out for any after-school flyers and permission slips coming home and encourage your children to join and participate. VOLUNTEERING: Please stop by the office to complete a Parent Volunteer form if you're interested in volunteering or chaperoning field trips at Nightingale. As always, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out at 773-535-9270. Thank you for your continued support and partnership! ![]()
